Little House on the Ferry Featured in Dwell
We are pleased to announce that our Little House on the Ferry project has been featured in the October issue of Dwell! Beautiful photographs and a compelling story focus on the design, siting and construction of these three cabins on the island of Vinalhaven, off the coast of Maine. The three small structures, consisting of a living unit and two bedroom units connected by an exterior deck, overlook the site of a former quarry with expansive ocean views. Cross-laminated timbers, or CLT’s, an emerging building technology, were utilized as the ceiling, floors and walls of the cabins, and were shipped and assembled on the remote, sloping site.
