AIA New England Design Award for Little House on the Ferry
GO Logic is honored to have been awarded an Honor Award from the AIA New England Design Awards for our Little House on the Ferry residence! This prestigious award recognizes “excellence by New England architects, and projects in New England by architects beyond the region.” Recently featured in Dwell Magazine, Little House on the Ferry is seasonal guesthouse comprised of three micro cabins connected by a web of outdoor decks on Vinalhaven, an island off the coast of Maine in Penobscot Bay. The small cabins, built utilizing cross-laminated timber panels (CLTs), hover on piers above a former quarry. This construction approach has minimized the impact of the building construction on the delicate recovering vegetation in the quarry. The cabins are comprised of a living and dining cabin and two separate sleeping cabins, each with a bedroom and bathroom. Together, this small cluster creates a series of intimate and private spaces with strong visual connections to the landscape. You can read more about our Little House on the Ferry project here. Riley Pratt will present the project, and accept the Honor Award at the AIA New England Annual Conference, Friday October 30th.
