AIA New England Design Awards
We are honored to announce that we have been awarded two recognitions from AIA New England in the 2016 Design Awards. Our Warren Woods Ecological Field Station project has received a Merit Award in the Institutional category, while the Belfast Cohousing and Ecovillage project received an Honor Award in the Multi-family Residential category.
The Warren Woods Ecological Field Station, designed for for the University of Chicago, was completed in 2014, and is the first certified Passive House laboratory in North America. This 2400 square foot field station serves as a remote research and education facility for students of the Department of Ecology and Evolution.
Belfast Cohousing and Ecovillage is a 36-unit Passive House level development, conceived in 2008 and built on 40 acres of dairy farmland. With the Ecovillage’s goal of farmland preservation and sustainable principles in mind, GO Logic developed the site plan, infrastructure and residential unit designs. Construction began on the residential units, with GO Logic as the general contractor, in fall 2011, and was completed in fall 2014.
