AIA New England Honor Award for Wellesley Residence
We are pleased to announce that GO Logic has been recognized in the 2017 AIA New England Design Awards: Our Wellesley Residence earned an Honor Award –the highest level presented—in the Single Family Residential category. Our peers in the profession tapped this project from a field of more than 200 entries, representing not only the best work of New England architects, but also New England projects designed by architects from outside the region.
Completed in 2016, Wellesley Residence responds to its suburban infill site by subtly subverting the neighborhood’s prevailing neocolonial design themes. Applying bold geometrical shifts and a remixed farmhouse-and-barn palette, it transforms a clichéd building type into something both fresher and more functional. A superinsulated building shell with high-performance triple-glazed windows and an energy recovery ventilation system yields an annual heating bill estimated at less than $300.
