Green Buildings Open House
This Saturday, October 5th, is the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association’s Green Building Open House. “Now in its 14th year, The Green Buildings Open House Tour is the largest sustainable energy event in the Northeastern US. From Maine all the way down to Pennsylvania, hundreds of sustainability-minded property owners will open their doors to visitors interested in seeing sustainability features first hand. The one-day terrestrial tour allows visitors to engage in face-to-face discussions with property owners and learn from the knowledge and expertise they have gained from installing and living with these technologies.” (NESEA website) GO Logic principle Matthew O’Malia will be at our Hayfield House project in Connecticut on Saturday, answering questions and furthering the conversation about Passive House standard design and construction. Additionally, the following GO Logic projects will be open to visitors: TerraHaus, the first certified Passive House residence hall in the United States, at Unity College in Unity, Maine. Belfast Cohousing & Ecovillage, a 36-unit Passive House standard housing development in Belfast, Maine. If you live in the Northeast and are considering building a new home, or adding energy efficient improvements to your existing home, we highly recommend visiting one of the hundreds of homes open to the public on Saturday.
