Of Stone, Wood, and Glass: Alnoba
Architecture is a visible and long-lasting medium, but the process by which it is created is often hidden and always fleeting. For that reason we are especially excited at the release of an outstanding new documentary film about one of our recent projects. Of Stone, Wood, and Glass follows the planning and construction of our historically resonant, energy-efficient flagship building for Alnoba, an environmentally focused retreat center in rural New Hampshire. Produced by our friends at Compass Light Productions, this 30-minute film captures the Lewis Family Foundation’s vision that drove the project, the landscape and history that inspired it, the skilled hands that crafted it, and the collaborative architectural process that orchestrated all of these elements to create a truly extraordinary building.
